On 07-08 March 2023, Kathmandu University School of Management organized a two-day 1st International Conference on Trade Openness, Economic Development, and Economic Sustainability. The inaugural ceremony consisted of a keynote address by Prof. Raghunath Subramaniam- Professor of Strategy, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore; Dr. Anup Wadhawan-Former Commerce Secretary, Government of India and Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Louise Rose-Research Chair Professor in Business Policy & Strategy, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Udaipur.

WTO Chair Programme Launch Event
On October 17, the WTO Chairs Programme (WCP) formally launched a new chair institution— Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), led by WCP- Nepal, Co-Chair Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle. With the goal of facilitating WTO members’ full participation in the multilateral trading system, the WCP provides financial and technical assistance to academic institutions in developing nations so they can increase their knowledge of international trade law and economics.

WTO Chair Programme Nepal

Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) was awarded the WTO Chairs programme along with 17 other universities around the world in a highly competitive process. This award is an acknowledgement of the competence and commitment of the KUSOM’s academics. It is also an encouragement to researchers and students to take an interest in WTO and multilateral trade matters, a cornerstone of international global governance.
